It doesn't look like this forum is active much anymore. I see a bunch of posts with thousands of views and no replies.

Off-road vehicle Repair - Garage or GL with GKLL
Looking for some opinions. I have a garage account that services 100% off-road vehicles - ATV's, dirt bikes, buggies. Nothing that can be driven or requires a license. Pretty much every available E&S market declined or will only offer $300K. I was thinking, how do these types of businesses get c...

Offroad vehicle Repair shop (CA)
Hello, Any other ideas for garage liability/gkll for an offroad vehicle repair shop? 100% dirt bikes, buggies, ATV's. I'm in CA. Current wholesaler placed them with Atlantic Casualty last year and said that the guidelines have changed and they can no longer write it. Declinations from Colony (will o...

Re: Installation floater rating basis
I dont think sales receipt is the rating basis for floater. The $2400 premium looks more like to me is for general liability. No, I already have his general liability which is separate. I am also very well versed in reading and analyzing quotes and the underwriter has confirmed that that is the rat...

Installation floater rating basis
So I have a solar contractor that has a trailer filled mostly with materials such as copper wiring, pipe, and connectors. The total value is about $15,000. He also has about $4,000 in tools/equipment. So I had a policy quoted for Tools/Equipment along with an Installation floater and the premium for...

Re: Insuring an LP consisting of several other entities
Could it be as simple as making A the primary named insured and B and C additional named insureds excluding their other operations not related to entity A?

Insuring an LP consisting of several other entities
I have a prospect whose structure is a bit convoluted (for reasons that make sense after he explained it) and I'm trying to determine the correct direction to proceed. I'll keep it simple and use "company A" and we'll use "widgets" as the product they are manufacturing so as to k...

Re: Non-profit with incidental international exposure
Have you tried Travelers, Chubb, or AIG? Those carriers should have an international coverage endorsement readily avaialble. There is work at home exposure so Travelers declined. I don't have access to Chubb. If by AIG you mean Chartis, they are a no go as well. State Fund says they don't have an e...

Non-profit with incidental international exposure
I have a small CA non-profit that I placed with Philadelphia Ins Co for GL and D&O and CNA for workers compensation. They have just informed me that several times a year they will have staff members who will need to travel out of country and outside the coverage territory to provide training to ...

Re: Garage Liability and loaner vehicles
He may have a deductible that is more than the damage to the customer's vehicle. Or... no coverage at all or an excluded driver. GKLL does require negligence on the part of the shop... which this would seem to be. Yes, however this would not be claimed under the GKLL, rather the Garage Liability po...

Re: Garage Liability and loaner vehicles
Most of my business is Auto Dealers and Repair Shops. If your insured has a Garage Liability policy, this is considered property damage, and will be paid as a liability claim. The Garagekeepers coverage will only pay for physical damage to a covered auto in your insured's care, custody, or control....

Re: Garage Liability and loaner vehicles
Question: My customer has a GK/GL policy. Customer of his is dropping off her tire at the shop and is turning around in the his parking lot. One of his employees backs out of the bay and hits the customer turning around who just dropped off the tire. I have no coverage for her. Has anyone dealt wit...

Re: Risk Purchasing Groups
as i understand an RPG, its an association of folks all banded together to buy insurance, and the claims are paid from the premiums generated by the group, but if the group runs out of money to pay their claims, I believe the insureds are out of luck, and would have no coverage. Sure, however, you ...

Re: Live Music venue in CA with open A&B claim
If I am reading this correctly, the risk has had 2 A/B claims; one is closed, one is still open? That could make A/B very difficult to secure. Who is the expiring carrier? Do they have A/B now? I am guessing from the markets your wholesaler approached that this risk must have enough receipts to jus...
