“If the plaintiff doesn’t want to be invested in ‘woke’ corporate America, perhaps it should seek other investment opportunities rather than wasting this court’s time,” he said.
I would love to understand a few things – what does “woke” mean? and what does “pushing wokeness” mean? If you’re referring to a company having DEI initiatives, then you’re going to be hard pressed to find a company that doesn’t have these goals.
It’s funny that politicians have so many people running around trying to fight “woke” when so many of them don’t have the slightest idea what it means. What they’re really saying is “Stay asleep my little friends, we’ll tell you what to think.”
How strange for an investor (a really really small investor $6k) to sue Starbuck for trying to make more money. That is the purpose of most corporate DEI programs. Helping the company make more money with an many different people as possible by tapping new resources.
I know, right? It’s almost like a political group with a political agenda bought a small amount of stock in a company just so it might have legal standing to sue the company.
Yeah, it’s almost exactly like that.
I’m old enough to remember when conservatives use to rail against “fRivolOus laWsuiTs!” and bleat on about “ToRt rEforM!”
And then 45 came along and now they’re all about frivolity in a court of law and routinely show up with no supporting evidence of anything they claim, which is the very definition of a frivolous lawsuit.
This issue is so polarized. One side honestly believes that making personnel decisions based on race is racist and illegal, while the other side believes that hiring and promoting the best candidate is inherently racist. I do no think they will ever see eye to eye.
Actually Starbucks should be woke. Isn’t drinks with caffeine the ultimate waking (past tense woke) drink? You would think that Peta would be all up in arms with that half calf drink they sell. Thanks a latte. Thanks for letting me expresso my self.

QFT. It’s as simple as that.
I agree 100% but this goes both ways. Don’t try to push wokeness on the people that don’t agree with being woke.

The Judge who ruled on this is in Spokane Washington, aka ‘Wokane’. Need I say more?
