Director of Risk Financing

We are searching for a Risk Financing Director - someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will design, implement, and oversee system-wide processes for risk identification and reduction of safety events in collaboration with departments across the organization. Evaluates and expand the Texas Children's Risk Financing program to meet the current and future needs of the organization. Provide direction and oversight to claims management activities and manage the total cost of Risk for Texas Children's. Keep executive leadership informed of emerging issues, changes to the insurance climate related to existing and potential lines of coverage and the status of ongoing claims and potential claims. Provide direction and oversight to claims management activities. Formally responsible for risk management input on all Texas Children's policies related to employee events, safety and security, patient and visitor events, insurance/claims issues, and the management of the Risk Financing Department.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee claims management activities and insurance program


• Oversees the Risk Financing Department in processing third-party Worker's Compensation clams and first-party property claims


• Oversees preparing loss analysis and assisting with the procurement of insurance programs for all lines of coverage both in U.S. and foreign markets, such as General Liability, Professional Liability, Excess Casualty, Property, Directors and Officers, Employers Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Auto and other lines of insurance


• Manages Texas Children's Total Cost of Risk


• Maintains relationship with Texas Children's insurance broker to evaluate risks as identified by Enterprise Risk Management Steering Group and coverage available to Texas Children's


• Attends hospital committee meetings to provide information on insurance coverage and updates on claims


• Evaluates and implements software systems to optimize the gathering of metrics around exposures and claims


• Supports the Vice President of Risk, Compliance, and Audit in the continued development of the Enterprise Risk Management program at Texas Children's


• Develops Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies in conjunction with Executive leadership to analyze and report enterprise risks, and manage risks according to an Enterprise Risk Management framework


• Ensures the organization's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with the strategic imperatives of the organization
