Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$80,700.00 - $133,200.00

What Is the Opportunity?

Candidate would be responsible for coordinating, conducting and documenting complex financial analysis, reporting projects, and maintaining financial systems. Be fully responsible for financial monthly close process for the Boiler & Machinery business unit. Support business unit in all ad-hoc financial analysis throughout the year. Position does not manage others, but may serve as a team lead. Team Lead: Directs daily work activities of a small group of employees. Works with higher level manager to set goals/objectives and provides input regarding performance of employees being led.

What Will You Do?

  • Assist in the design, preparation, evaluation and validation of complex internal and/or external financial and operational reports, both routine and ad-hoc.
  • Perform and review analysis and interpretation of trends and variances in business performance, interacting with cross functional peers on a frequent basis. Validate analyses.
  • Synthesize and present exhibits, results, observations, recommendations to cross functional peers and management.
  • Accountable for tactical production of financial plan in support of the Business plan and forecast for the organization (annual, ongoing and long term).
  • Be reactive to data needs and analysis related to customer requests and inquiries.
  • Partner with business unit liaisons to determine required analyses and reporting; creatively search for and implement solutions to those needs.
  • Participate in projects applicable to the larger Middle Market and Business Insurance organizations
  • Apply basic accounting and financial concepts and controls to provide subject matter expertise in the development, implementation or enhancement of financial, operations and business applications.
  • Identify, use and train others on appropriate tools to obtain, compile and analyze more complex data necessary to support more advanced financial reports and analysis, and provide input on potential tool utilization enhancements.
  • Accountable for tactical production of overall strategic plan including an advanced understanding of impact of competitor, market and industry landscape.
  • Perform and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education.
  • Experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles and processes and accounting practices and principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively.
  • Ability to influence team members and management.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
  • Ability to think strategically and use judgement to resolve issues as they arise.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g. TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).


What is a Must Have?

  • Three years of finance, financial planning, accounting, or related experience.
